Project Major Events

 

Since it's inception, AHADS passed a lot milestones in it's uninterrupted journey. These are the major milestones of AHADS.

    1993 

  • Center for Water Resource Development and Management (CWRDM) the task of drawing up a comprehensive project for Integrated and Sustainable Eco-Development of Attappady Wastelands. The Project was submitted to the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Government of India with a request for loan assistance from the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (OECF), later renamed as (JBIC).

    • 1995 

  • January: DEA short-listed the Project for posing it to the OECF and during February 1995, a fact-finding mission from the OECF visited the Project area and held discussion with the Central and State Government agencies . 

  • October: AHADS Formation -The State Government announced the formation of an autonomous society in the name of Attappady Hills Area Development Society (AHADS) with its headquarters at Agali for the implementation of the Project.

  • 1995 October 31-The Attappady Hills Area Development Society (AHADS) was registered under the Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1860.

    • 1996 

  • January: Agreement signed in between Govt. of India and OECF

  • February:- 1996 February11-The Project was formally inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala,sri A K Antony under the Local Self Department.

    • 1997 

  • June: Concept building of Community Based Organizations

    • 1999 

  • July:- 1999.July 15-M/s Nippon Koei Co Ltd.Japan was selected as Project consultants.

  • November: NipponCoi engaged as a Consulting agency of AHADS.

    • 2000 

  • April:- 2000 April 22-The implementation of field level activities was formally inaugurated by the Hon'ble Minister for Rural Development and Local Self Government Department, sri Paloli Muhammed Kutty.

    • 2001 

  • May: AHADS adopted the implementation strategy through multi disciplinary team.

  • Approval of restructuring proposal consisting social components .

    • 2002 

  • August: The project was restructured by adding the Total Hamlet Development Programme (THDP) and the health and education

  • November:- 2002 November 17-The Hon'ble president of India Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam Inaugurated the restructured project including Total Hamlet Development Programme(THDP).

    • 2003 

  • November: National Workshop conducted by AHADS for preparing project works

    • 2004 

  • November: Sericulture Project implemented by AHADS the co operation of Serifed and Central Silk Board

    • 2005 

  • February:- 2005 February 25- The Chief Minister of Kerala Sri.Oommenchandy inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Mamana hamlet.

  • May: The project extended upto 2010 March.

  • November: Sericulture Development programme,a joint venture by AHADS , Central Silk Board and Serifed was started .

  • December::- 2005 december 09-The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.C.F.Thomas Inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Koodanchala hamlet.

    • 2006 

  • July: Wilbur Smith Consultants - Evaluation (JBIC)

  • September:- 2006 December 13: The Cheif Minister of Kerala Sri.V.S.Achuthananthan inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Guddayur hamlet & Electricity-Sheduled and Backwared Development Ministry of Kerala Sri. A.K.Balan inaugurated in Koothadichala Hamlet.

  • December:- 2006 December 31-The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.Paloli Muhammedkutty Inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Mukkali hamlet.

    • 2008 

  • August:- 2008 August 02-Deputy Speaker of Kerala Sri.JoseBaby inaugurated the Chavadiyur Bridge..

  • September:- 2008 September 04-The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.Paloli Muhammed kutty Inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Swarnnagadha hamlet and handed over the document of Chavadiyur bridge to Publics Works Department.

  • September:- 2008 September 05-The Excise and Labour Minister of Kerala Sri.P.K.Gurudasan laid foundation stone for Attappady ITI Buiding.

  • December:- 2008 December 11-The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.Paloli Muhammed kutty inaugurated the key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Nayanampetti hamlet.

    • 2009 

  • January: Tribal hamlets 31 Nos were selected for seconed phase THDP programme.

  • 2009 January 26-The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.Paloli Muhammedkutty Inaugurated the function of key distributio of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Chemmannur hamlet and implimentation works of Agali Drinking Water Supply Sheme.

  • June: THDP second phase started.

  • July:- 2009 July 25-The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.Paloli Muhammedkutty Inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Kalpetty hamlet.

  • September: 2009 September 06- The Electricity-Sheduled and Backwared Development Minister of Kerala Sri. A.K.Balan inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Chalayur Hamlet.

  • October:- 2009 October 12- The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.Paloli Muhammedkutty Inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Swarnnagadha and Karara hamlets.

  • 2009 October 19-AHADS got the international appreciation of JICA(Japan International Cooperation Agency) for the best watershed based project of 2009.

  • 2009 October 28-The Speaker of Kerala Sri.K.Radhakrishnan inaugurated the Lab Buildings of Govt.Higher secondary schools of Agali and Pudur constructed by AHADS.

    • 2010 

  • January:- 2010 January 22: The Indian Chief of Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) Sri.Shrishinichi Yemanaka inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Kozhikoodam hamlet

  • March: Attappady Wasteland Comprehensive Environmental Conservation Project extended upto December 2010 and the Govt. of kerala sanctioned 17.5 crores to AHADS in the state budget 2009-2010

  • 2010 March 24- The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.Paloli Muhammedkutty Inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in veettiyoor hamlets.

  • April:- 2010 April 22- The deputy speaker of kerala inauguarated the Attappady Govt.ITI building constructed by AHADS

  • May :- 2010 May 21-22 National Workshop conducted by Wilbersmith Associates and AHADS on the topic of Experience Sharing at AHADS campus, a successful endeavourer of participatory watershed management.

  • June:- 2010 June13- The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.Paloli Muhammedkutty Inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Jellimedu and Ranganadhapuram hamlets.

  • July:- 2010 July 17-The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.Paloli Muhammedkutty Inaugurated the building constructed by AHADS CHC(Community Health centre) in Agali hamlet.

  • August:- 2010 August 14-The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.Paloli Muhammedkutty Inaugurated the Agali Drinking Water Scheme.

  • 2010 Agugust 14-The Rural Development Minister of Kerala Sri.Paloli Muhammedkutty Inaugurated the function of key distribution of houses constructed by AHADS THDP in Oothukuzhi, Moolakkada, Keeripathy, Vayalur, Kottamedu, Dhundoor, Karuvara hamlets.

    • 2011 

  • February:- 2011 February 28:- Deputy Speaker of Kerala sri. Jose baby inaugurated the girls hostel building in Kottathara and Sholayoor constructed for tribal girls by AHADS

  • August:- 2011 August 13:- The chief minister of kerala Shri. Oommen Chandy inaugurated the function of 254 houses constructed for tribal people by AHADS. The Minister for Rural Development of kerala Shri.K.C. Joseph distributed the keys to the beneficiaries of Bodichala,Veettikundu, Nellippathi hamlets and the minister for Youth and Tribal Welfare Kumari.P.K.Jayalakshmi distributed the keys to the beneficiaries of Kathirampathi, Thazhechoottara, Marappalam hamlets.
